Community Champion, Sajid Hanif has reached out to local care homes to provide food for their staff and residents. Mr Hanif has previously arranged food parcels for staff at Russells Hall Hospital during first and most recent lockdown.
Mr Hanif worked alongside Dudley MP, Marco Longhi and the owners of Little Italy Pizzeria Mr Jatinder Pal Sandha and Miss Baksho Devi, in Dudley to give a boost to care home workers and their residents.
Sajid Hanif said, “It has been a privilege to reach out and provide a little boost to such hard-working people and also put a smile on residents who have been isolated for so long.
“Mr Jatinder Pal Sandha and Miss Baksho Devi are so community spirited I can only thank them for their kind support. Despite isolation, I believe some good will come from all of this and that there will be even stronger community bonds. Here in St Thomas’s, I know many people that have gone out of their way to help and support others.
“I have really enjoyed helping others, from providing the food parcels for hospital staff, to delivering 100 pizzas for care staff and residents.”
Marco Longhi MP said, “this is what Dudley is all about – community spirit. I have known Sajid for some time and I know he cares deeply about the hard work done by all our key workers. It was nice to see how happy the staff and residents were. I look forward to returning when lockdown is over.”
