Member of Parliament for Dudley North, Marco Longhi has started a campaign to fill the streets of Dudley with poppies he has purchased from the Royal British Legion.
Marco Longhi MP said, “as we approach Remembrance Day this year, I feel even more compelled as an admirer of our fantastic armed forces to help fundraise for the Royal British Legion through their Poppy Appeal.
This year the Poppy Appeal is going to suffer. Covid-19 restrictions mean that, like most other charities, normal Poppy selling, and fundraising cannot happen in the same way. I want pay tribute to the incredible numbers of volunteers who year-in and year-out turn up to do their bit for the RBL.
I'd like to invite residents to get in touch and let me know if they can support the appeal in some practical way as we aim to install 300 lamppost poppies on roads in Dudley North.
We need to do something different to support the RBL this year so please help! So, if you can spare a few £ please donate or even consider sponsoring a lamppost/poppy.
We all know the RBL do great work for our veterans and their families so please help out, they do need extra help this year.”
If you would like to get involved, please email my office [email protected]
A huge thank you to Matt J Cook of Black Country cleaners who is helping with installing the poppies and is donating as well!
If you want some on your road and have a few quid to spare, please donate here too: https://gf.me/u/y6hvnw
