Marco Longhi MP has welcomed the support of residents who have helped him with several litter picks in St Thomas’s ward, Dudley North.
Marco visited areas which have been blighted by fly-tipping for several years, including Porter Street South and Larkspur Road. He met with residents to discuss the problems they are facing and has agreed to work with the Council and community to remove the litter and look for long-term solutions, including the use of cameras.
Marco has stated he is keen to be involved with the Keep Britain Tidy campaign and will be facilitating further litter picks in the constituency. The great British Spring Clean campaign runs from 20th March – 13th April. You can register your support keepbritaintidy.org.

“I am delighted that the community has come out to support my drive to tackle fly-tipping in our borough. I am especially grateful to local resident Sajid Hanif who has knocked on doors drumming up support for the litter picks. Fly tipping is unsightly and is unfair on residents who have suffered this for too long.
“I have looked at a number of hot spot areas this week and taken direct action. I am determined to put a stop to this illegal activity and will be pressing the Council to utilise Government funding to protect these areas.”
“However, it is no good me just complaining about it, I decided to take direct action - you have to get stuck in and that’s exactly what we have done this week. I will be doing this all over Dudley North and would love for residents to get in touch with me to help.”
