This week, we received the pleasure of hosting Claire Coutinho MP, the Energy Secretary.
I thank her for her visit to Dudley. Also, thanks to Cabinet Member Cllr Cobert Clinton and the Lister Road team for showing us around the energy-from-waste plant.
The site disposes of household and trade waste, creating energy which the council benefits from by selling it back to the national grid. The council is also looking to use the energy to power its electric vehicles and council buildings.
This method can help the council reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, and it is a way of cutting costs and producing clean energy.
