I assessed the playing field at Grange Park, accompanied by officers from Dudley Council's neighbourhood team. All thanks to local residents reaching out to me.
I was informed the playing field is prone to flooding, and saw the evidence for myself: deep ruts filled with water, right in front of the goal lines.
These conditions make the pitch unplayable, particularly this time of year, and prevent the local people from enjoying the facilities at Grange Park.
As a result, I am happy to report the Council will be developing a plan for improvements.
Like many things, this will take some time. The existing area needs to be worked, and the grass allowed time to regrow. But this is certainly a positive step in the right direction.
As well as thanking the local residents for alerting me of the issue, I would also like to thank the Council Officers for their time and efforts in discussing potential solutions.
I hope this evidences that if you have an issue, I will not only listen, but take action. All you need to do it inform me, and I will do my best to represent you.
