I have never been satisfied with the state of our roads across the Midlands, and I have always intervened. I will never turn my constituents away when they reach out to me for help, or when I see something unacceptable myself.
Dudley Council are implementing a new way of treating potholes and it’s doing well. I am grateful to all the maintenance team there for their efforts.
In Parliament I am doing all I can to make sure more funding is allocated to our local authorities.
The Department of Transport has recently announced that they will be giving an extra £151 million to the West Midlands Combined Authority for local roads resurfacing.
I recently met the Minister for Roads, Guy Opperman MP, to discuss more funding for local authorities and invited him to Dudley.
I’d like to continue asking you to help me and ‘be my eyes’, please report any highway (road or footpath) issues in the comments section below - thank you!
