After the tragic incident that took place at The Crooked House one thing is clear: legislative changes are needed.
While Marco Longhi MP have already set off on the journey to make those changes, he has formed a committee to help him.
Marco has nominated Ian Sandall and James Stevens as the two pub champions to become core members of the committee.
Ian is known as one of the lead campaigners of The Crooked House Facebook Group. He will bring his campaigning and his former pub landlord experience to the committee.
James runs The Chapel House pub in Gornal. He will bring his current experience of running a pub to the committee.
The committee is supported by other members such as Paul Turner who is also a lead campaigner of The Crooked House Facebook group, he will be sitting as a representative of the group.
This initiative is supported by organisations such as Campaign For Pubs and Dudley & South Staffordshire CAMRA.
One of the first task the committee will look at is to identify all the heritage pubs in Dudley which can then be shared with the local authority and Historic England to potentially have them listed.
The list will also be shared with Andy Street’s team to support the ‘List your local’ campaign.
