After a week full of special annual days last week, we have World Glaucoma Week this week. So I popped into Specsavers to find out more.
Glaucoma is an eye condition when the optic nerve is damaged, usually as a result of increased eye pressure. Some symptoms inslude:
- The loss of peripheral vision
- Blurred vision
- Pain in eye
- Rings around lights
Glaucoma is mostly detected during a regular eye test, so if you have any of these symptoms then please book an appointment with your optician.
Dudley Specsavers is one of the largest eye triage centres in the Black Country with an OCT machine that can detect glaucoma up to 4 years sooner.
An early diagnosis could save your sight!
