This week it was also a pleasure to return to the Beacon Centre for the Blind in Sedgley.
The CEO Lisa Cowley and the team clearly work incredibly hard, and I can see what a real asset the centre has become.
The facilities are top-notch, and service users are getting support in all areas of their lives. It was particularly enlightening to be reminded and learn more about the particular difficulties partially-sighted people face.
It was also quite touching to hear such warm words for the staff and the centre from service users directly. I met with team members, including Kaydee and Nathan, who are both partially sighted but working successfully at the centre.
An inspiration, both of them.
