We have some great education establishments but Marco wanted more choice so we investing to support young people to get the education and skills they want and need to help them into a good job and help the economy continue growing.
Free schools are funded by the Government but are not run by the local authority, instead, they are run by other organisations. This gives them greater freedom to innovate and drive up standards, for example more autonomy over teachers’ pay and their curriculum.
