£4m has been earmarked to transform the former museum and art gallery, the Old Glasshouse restaurant, and a neighbouring office block into a new recreation venue.
The venue will include indoor activities and food, a boutique hotel, and the Old Glasshouse has already been transformed into a sports bar.
I’m pleased that these historic sites will be bought back to use with the original features being retained. It’s important we honour our town’s heritage whilst looking ahead to the future by repurposing these landmarks.
