MP OPENS PHOTO COMPETITION FOR LOCAL PETS LOOKING THEIR FINEST FOR ST GEORGE’S DAY
As St George’s Day approaches this week whilst we are still in lockdown, Dudley North Member of Parliament Marco Longhi is on the hunt for Dudley’s most patriotic pet.
In a post uploaded to Facebook on Friday, Mr Longhi said “To spread some cheer, I want to see your pets looking ready for St George's Day (an example expertly modelled by my team's new mascot in the picture).”
For those who wish to enter, the process is as follows;
HOW TO ENTER:
-
POST a picture of your pet in the comments looking ready for St George’s Day (do this by 9am on Thursday 23rd April)

Pets are also great at helping those suffering with mental ill health and can offer a source of companionship and comfort. Simply just stroking or sitting next to a pet gives owners a chance to relax and calm their minds. Pets are a great motivator and dogs especially are great at encouraging owners to get exercise. Even seeing images of animals can provide a calming effect, which many of us need during this lockdown period.
The winner will be announced via Facebook Live on Thursday at 5pm on Marco Longhi MP’s page. Prizes will be announced during the Facebook live.
Marco Longhi, Member of Parliament for Dudley North, said:
“Pets provide a great source of happiness and comfort, which is especially needed during these times of national crisis.
I am very excited to see photos of Dudley’s finest pets looking ready to celebrate our national patron saint, St George, this Thursday, 23rd April.”
