I was shocked - and more than a bit surprised - to read a newspaper article that named The Clifton in Sedgley as the worst Wetherspoons in the country.
I just had to visit, and my experience certainly didn't match with article's critiques - nor any other experience I have had there in the past!
Vibrant and welcoming, the atmosphere upon entering clearly demonstrated The Clifton to be as popular as ever. Plenty of locals were tucking into the good value food and there was a real community spirit.
The staff were working hard and the Duty Manager was happy to take some time out to talk to me.
Overall, I had an amazing afternoon having a drink with the locals at the "worst Spoons in the country", and I urge you all to get out there and support your locals too.
