Celebrating Ukraine's 31st Independence Day, and simultaneously marking 6 months since the Russian Federation began its deplorable invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine, the famed black door of 10 Downing Street was adorned with flowers in the national colours of Ukraine, including the national flower of Ukraine, the sunflower.
In a national address, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine said that he would resist the Russian invasion upon his country "until the end".

In addition to forming the British-Polish-Ukrainian trilateral security pact, the UK has put together one of the toughest, and most comprehensive, packages of economic sanctions on the Russian Federation, has committed over £2.3 billion in military assistance, and building upon the success of Operation ORBITAL, has undertaken an ambitious and innovative programme to train a further 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers to use UK-provided equipment.
